love a palette tray because it minimizes paint going on your clothes, or other surfaces, and is easy to set down just about anywhere. it's also great for preserving a palette between layers or painting sessions––just cover with saran wrap and pop it in the freezer. my freezer is small, so to avoid paint accidentally getting on food, I also secure it in a ziplock bag.
